Factions is survival with teams that can claim land. You create or join a faction, power from your members protects a chunk, and rivals raid you when that power drops or during a set raid window. Bases become obsidian bunkers, cannoning and TNT are common, and alliances shift every week. Outposts, warps, and a faction chest are standard. Some servers are kit-heavy and fast. Others are more classic, with longer claim grind and fewer custom enchants. The overworld is hostile on purpose. Bring friends, because a solo claim is a raid target. A current list of Factions servers is waiting below for players who want a base worth defending.

Factions is survival with teams that own land. Members add power, power protects chunks, and rivals raid you when that power falls or when a raid timer opens. Bases turn into bunkers. Cannons and TNT are common. Outposts, warps, and a faction chest are standard. Some servers are fast and full of custom enchants. Others are slower, with a longer claim grind. Read the raid hours before you join a group, because an offline base is the usual target.
You can wander and mine, but a solo claim is a raid poster. The mode is built for a group that can hold a wall and restock TNT. If you want protected land without a war, look at land claim or Towny instead. If you want the fights, join a faction that already has power rather than planting a one-person base on the first night.
Factions in Minecraft are a competitive PvP gamemode on multiplayer servers where players form groups called factions to claim land, build hidden bases, and raid rivals by destroying their structures and stealing loot.
Top plugins for building Factions servers are FactionsUUID, SaberFactions, ImprovedFactions, Vault, and LuckPerms. Core ones enable faction groups, land claims, power systems, and raids, while Vault and LuckPerms provide economy/permission support.
