Towny is a town-and-nation plugin on a survival world. You found a town, claim plots, invite residents, set taxes, and later join or create a nation with allies. Mayors manage permissions. Wilderness outside towns can still be dangerous or griefable, depending on the host. Wars between nations are sometimes enabled, but plenty of Towny servers are peaceful builders who want a main street and a shared chest. It is more civic than a faction raid base: plots, embassies, and a spawn town are the usual picture. Mayors collect tax and residents expect a road. A current list of Towny servers is waiting below.
