What is a Minecraft Server List?

A Minecraft server list is a directory of multiplayer servers you can look through before you join one. Instead of taking an address from a chat message or a video description, you compare servers in one place and open the listing that fits the way you want to play. On 16BitMC, an approved server shows:

• Its name and a short description
• The categories it belongs to
• The country where it is hosted
• How many players are online
• A star rating built from player reviews

The server page has the longer description, a button that copies the connection address, and a vote page. The same directory is also split into category pages, such as Survival, Skyblock, Factions, and Pixelmon, and into country pages, so you can look at one mode or one region instead of the full list.

What makes 16BitMC Server List Special?

16BitMC orders its public directory by votes that players cast on this site.

• A player can vote for a server once every 24 hours from the same IP address or the same Minecraft username.
• Ordering uses that server's votes for the current calendar month.
• Sponsored servers can be pinned in the top rows of the homepage. Under those rows, a server with more votes is listed first.
• If two servers have the same vote count, the one players click more often comes first. A listing with its own banner and icon is placed ahead of one that still uses the blank images.
• A new server is approved by hand before it appears, and pausing a listing removes it from the public pages.
• A server page has a Java IP button when the owner set a Java address, and a Bedrock IP button when the owner added a Bedrock address.
• Owners can connect Votifier, which tells their server that someone voted here so the server can give that player an in-game reward.
• Every row shows the player count from the latest check of that server, the host country, and the average review score.

How do I find a good Minecraft Server?

Start with the kind of game you want, rather than with whichever server is in the first row.

• Open a category such as Survival, Skyblock, Prison, or Minigames and read the descriptions there. A useful listing says what the mode is, what the rules are, and whether the world resets.
• Use the player count as a clue, not as a score. A small survival world can be better with a few people online, while a minigames server is more fun when a crowd is already playing.
• Open the server page and read the reviews before you stay.
• Match the edition you play. Java Edition uses the Java IP button. Phones, consoles, and Bedrock on Windows need the Bedrock IP button, and that button is only there when the owner added a Bedrock address.
• Check the country flag. A server hosted closer to you usually has lower latency than one on another continent.

Join from Minecraft, play long enough to judge the staff and the other players, and vote if you want that server to move up the list.

What is a Bedrock, PE, or Java server?

Minecraft is published as two editions, and they do not join the same servers unless a server adds software to connect them.

• Java Edition runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Its servers can install Bukkit, Spigot, and Paper plugins, and the usual port is 25565.
• Bedrock Edition runs on Windows 10 and 11, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, iPhone, and Android. The usual port is 19132.
• Pocket Edition, shortened to PE, was the name of Minecraft on phones before it became part of Bedrock, so a PE server and a Bedrock server are the same kind of server.

A Java player cannot join a Bedrock-only server, and a phone or console player cannot join a Java-only server. Some Java servers install Geyser, which accepts Bedrock connections and lets both groups play on one world. On a 16BitMC server page, the Java section is present when the owner saved a Java address, and the Bedrock section appears only when a Bedrock address was saved. The Bedrock and PE categories are tags the owner chose. Open the server page and check that the button for your edition is there before you try to connect.

What are the most popular Minecraft plugins?

Plugins are add-ons for Java servers that run Paper, Spigot, or Bukkit. They are a different system from Bedrock add-ons and behavior packs, so a plugin list tells you about a Java server, not about a phone-only world.

• LuckPerms stores ranks and permissions.
• EssentialsX adds everyday commands for homes, warps, kits, and moderation.
• Vault lets an economy plugin and a permissions plugin share one set of balances and ranks.
• WorldEdit and WorldGuard let staff build quickly and lock regions so other players cannot grief them.
• CoreProtect records who changed which blocks, which makes a rollback possible after damage.
• ViaVersion lets Java clients on different versions join the same server.
• Geyser, often installed with Floodgate, lets Bedrock players join a Java server.
• mcMMO adds skill levels for mining, swords, and other actions.
• Dynmap or BlueMap publishes a map of the world that you can open in a browser.
• NuVotifier or VotifierPlus receives the vote from a directory such as 16BitMC, and a rewards plugin such as VotingPlugin gives the player the in-game prize.

A long plugin list is not itself a reason to join. The useful question is whether those plugins match the mode you want and whether the server stays playable with them running.
